Ocean Champions Honors Rep. Sam Farr (D-Carmel) At Blue Vision Summit in WA. D.C

Washington, D.C., Ocean Champions’ President and Co-Founder Dave Wilmot, Ph. D., presented Rep. Sam Farr (D-Carmel) with an award for his commitment to healthy ocean policy at the prestigious ’Peter Benchley’ Awards Luncheon at The Blue Vision Summit conference at George Washington University, Washington D.C. March 7-9 2009.
Ocean Champions’ sponsored the highly successful Blue Vision Summit -- a convergence of ocean and coastal leaders, blue groups, scientists, surfers, fisherman, businesses, educators, clergy, and youth, who gathered to celebrate ocean health and promote ideas for ensuring healthy ocean policy.
“Congressman Farr is a great champion for our oceans in Congress,” stated David Wilmot. “It was my honor, on behalf of my colleagues, to recognize him for all that he has done for the Monterey Bay, the California coasts and all our oceans.”
